End of Sales for plan-US-max, plan-US-NA, and planP1

Soracom regularly updates its subscription plan lineup to ensure that customers have access to the best available coverage options. As part of these updates, sales of the plan-US-max, plan-US-NA, and planP1 subscriptions will end on January 1st, 2027. Starting on this date, these subscriptions can no longer be purchased or added to IoT SIMs.

This change does not affect subscriptions that are already in use. Existing plan-US-max, plan-US-NA, and planP1 subscriptions will remain active and supported, and devices using them will continue to connect to cellular networks as usual. No action is required for existing deployments.

Details of the Change

  • End of Sales Date: January 1st, 2027
  • Affected Subscriptions:
    • plan-US-max and plan-US-NA Subscription Containers, which can currently be added to plan-US IoT SIMs (plan-US-max and plan-US-NA) and plan01s IoT SIMs (plan-US-max)
    • planP1, which is currently available as an IoT SIM card, an eSIM Profile, and a Subscription Container that can be added to plan01s IoT SIMs
  • Impact: Only new sales and new additions of these subscriptions will end. Existing subscriptions will remain active and operational. plan-US and plan01s IoT SIMs themselves are not affected and will remain available for purchase.

Recommended Alternatives

In place of plan-US-max or plan-US-NA

If you are considering other subscription options in place of plan-US-max or plan-US-NA, we recommend the following Subscription Containers, launched in August 2026:

  • planM1: Offers coverage in over 60 countries and regions, including the AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon networks in the United States, and can be added to existing plan-US and plan01s IoT SIMs.
  • planV1: Offers coverage in over 180 countries and regions, including the AT&T, Movistar, and Telcel networks in Mexico, and can be added to existing plan01s IoT SIMs.

In place of planP1

If you are considering other subscription options in place of planP1, we recommend the following:

  • plan01s: Offers coverage in over 170 countries and regions with Pay-As-You-Go data pricing, and supports Subscription Containers so that regional coverage can be added to the same SIM.
  • planX3: Offers coverage in over 100 countries and regions and includes 5 MB of bundled data, and is available as an IoT SIM card, an eSIM Profile, or a Subscription Container that can be added to plan01s IoT SIMs.
  • planM1: Offers coverage in over 60 countries and regions and can be added to existing plan-US and plan01s IoT SIMs.
  • planV1: Offers coverage in over 180 countries and regions and can be added to existing plan01s IoT SIMs.

Depending on the country or region where your devices are located, these subscriptions may support more carriers and radio access technologies than your current subscriptions. For more information, see the Supported Carriers documentation.

For details on the differences between each subscription plan, please refer to the following resources:

  • Soracom IoT SIM Types & Plans
  • Pricing & Fee Schedule
  • Supported Carriers

References to plan-US-max, plan-US-NA, and planP1 will be removed from Soracom's main documentation and moved to a legacy products section on January 1st, 2027.

We appreciate your continued support and understanding. For any questions or assistance with subscription planning, feel free to contact us.
