Low-code IoT application builder Soracom Flux now available

We are excited to announce Soracom Flux, a new low-code IoT application builder that allows you to easily build powerful IoT applications without specialized knowledge. Flux provides an interactive visual interface that lets you create rules for how to handle sensor values, images, or other device data, where to send data for processing (such as cloud or AI services), and what actions to perform when processed data meets certain criteria.

With Flux, customers can easily build IoT applications for linking data from devices to the cloud and controlling devices from the cloud, all with minimal code.

Starting today, the Soracom Flux Free Plan is available to all customers.

New VPG Type-F2 providing simplified private network setup now available

We are pleased to announce the release of VPG Type-F2, a new Virtual Private Gateway that provides a simplified private network configuration experience that enables bi-directional IP-based communcation between devices and cloud, as well as several improvements to VPG user interfaces.

VPG Type-F2

VPG Type-F2 is a new Virtual Private Gateway service that utilizes VPC Attachments and Transit Gateway Peering for establishing connections to private networks. Compared to existing VPG Type-F and Type-G services, Type-F2 allows you to build a secure environment for communication from servers to devices with substantially less network setup required and fewer dependencies. Type-F2 also supports VPN connections and dedicated line connections, enabling connections not only to cloud networks but also on-premise or corporate networks, and opening up capabilities for more advanced network configurations.

While we are launching VPG Type-F2 today, VPG Type-F and Type-G will remain available, and customers can continue using their existing VPGs.

To learn more about VPG Type-F2, please visit the VPG Type-F2 documentation. Pricing information is also available in the Pricing & Fee Schedule.

Limitations

At this time, VPG Type-F2 support for SIM-Based Routing functionality is not yet available, but is planned for the near future.

New VPG user interfaces

As we expand VPG options, we have also taken this opportunity to improve the VPG interfaces in the User Console. Now when creating a VPG, you will see a table listing features supported by each VPG, allowing you to more easily choose the right option for your network and application requirements.

We have also made several improvements to VPG configuration screens to better organize settings and options.

Soracom Relay Motion Detection feature now available

We are pleased to announce a new Motion Detection feature for Soracom Relay.

Soracom Relay is a video transport service that allows you to stream video from RTSP/RTP-enabled network cameras directly to Harvest Files, Amazon Kinesis Video Streams, and Amazon S3.
