Soracom Cloud Camera Services Export Limit Override API now available

A new API has been added to Soracom Cloud Camera Services for overriding export limits.

Previously, the maximum amount of video/still images that could be exported via the User Console or Soracom API/CLI was limited to 72 hours per month, per device.

With the new API, this export limit can now be freely set. For example, if you set the export limit to 100 hours, you can export up to 100 hours per month, per device.

  • Simply changing the export limit will not incur overage fees.
  • However, exporting beyond original 72 hours will incur hourly overage fees.

For more information on setting the export limit, see Setting Recorded Video Time Available for Export (Japanese).

Service degradation for plan01s with T-Mobile Germany

We are experiencing a service degradation on T-Mobile Germany (Deutsche Telekom). Devices that are configured to connect to this network with a plan01s IoT SIM may have difficulty attaching. Other networks in Germany (Telefonica O2 and Vodafone) are working normally, and we are closely monitoring devices as they transition to other available networks.

If your devices are not configured to automatically reconnect to another available network, you may need to manually perform a power-cycle in order to resume network connectivity.

We are actively working with our network partner to re-establish service. We will keep you updated about any further information.

Soracom Beam AWS Signature V4 Header option now supports Amazon Location Service

Soracom Beam is a proxy service for forwarding data from a device to an endpoint that you specify, such as a server or a cloud service. We previously announced a new feature that allows you to add various authorization headers to the data forwarded by Beam.

With this update, you can now select Amazon Location Service when configuring an AWS Signature V4 header option. This option is available when using Beam's Website entry point.

Configuring this option will allow Beam to send data such as location information to Amazon Location Service for device location tracking.

For more information, please refer to the following page (in Japanese):

New Group and Operator Data Usage APIs now available

We have released two new APIs which allow you to check the data usage across multiple SIMs:

  • Stats:getAirStatsOfGroup: Gets the data usage history of all SIMs belonging to a specified group.
  • Stats:getAirStatsOfOperator: Gets the data usage history of all SIMs belonging to a specified operator. (Note that you can only query your own operator.)

These APIs allow you to obtain the daily or monthly data usage history at a group or operator level. This can be helpful if you want to check the total data usage of all SIMs belonging to a particular group, for example, without having to check data usage for each SIM individually and calculating the total separately.

Note that if a SIM is removed from a group in the middle of the Event Handler's daily or monthly period, any data usage that occurred prior to removal will still be counted towards that group's total traffic. Similarly, if a SIM is added to a group in the middle of the period, any previous data usage before the change will not be counted.

SIM ID details added to Billing CSV

When reviewing your monthly service charges, you can download detailed billing CSV files from the User Console. These files contain the full breakdown of all usage, service, and option charges, organized according to the SIM associated with the charge.

With this update, we have added a SIM ID column (simId) in the billing CSV data. Now, in addition to identifying SIMs based on their IMSI number, you can also identify them based on their SIM ID. This can be especially helpful if your SIMs are utilizing the Subscription Container service and each SIM contains multiple IMSIs.

For more information about the billing CSV, please refer to Billing Information: Detailed Billing CSV.

New Billing Dashboard feature in User Console

The Soracom User Console now offers a convenient Billing Dashboard screen that allows you to quickly and easily check your recent Soracom usage fees.

To acces the Billing Dashboard, click your account menu at the top right of the User Console and select Billing Dashboard. From there, you can select your current or previous 3 months of billing periods to see a detailed breakdown of charges.

Please note:

  • The Billing Dashboard corresponds to your coverage type. If you are using both Global Coverage and Japan Coverage, you will need to switch between the two to see the Billing Dashboard for each coverage type.
  • The amounts displayed for the current month's usage reflect the cumulative charges incurred to date and include coupons and applicable taxes, however the actual usage total may differ once the final bill is calculated at the end of the month.
