New media transfer service Soracom Relay now available

We are pleased to announce the launch of Soracom Relay, a new service that enables the secure collection and transfer of video content from RTSP-enabled network cameras to the cloud.

Soracom Relay supports RTSP/RTP protocols for signalling and media transfer, allowing you to remotely trigger video playback or streaming from a Soracom-connected RTSP-enabled network camera and capture the video content for storage or transfer to cloud services. Video content can be stored directly on Harvest Files for easy download directly from the User Console, or transferred to Amazon S3 or Amazon Kinesis Streams for cloud storage or video analysis. Moreover, since Relay takes care of cloud integration functionality, you can use standard RTSP-network cameras that don't have cloud integrations capabilities built-in.

Relay is currently available as a limited preview. If you are interested in using Relay, please sign in to your Soracom account from the User Console, click the Menu button, and select Soracom Relay in order to apply for access.

We greatly welcome your feedback, and are excited to expand the number of supported network cameras, recorders, routers, and forwarding destinations in the future.

For more information, please visit the Soracom Relay page (Japanese).
