In addition to its existing support for SMS reception (SMS MT: Mobile Terminated), Soracom Air for Cellular plan-US-max now supports SMS transmission (SMS MO: Mobile Originated), enabling IoT devices to send SMS messages.

With this update, you can use SMS to send alert notifications based on device status and enable bidirectional communication between devices and your servers.

Please note that IoT devices using plan-US-max can only send SMS messages to the Unified Endpoint (901001). Data sent to the Unified Endpoint can be stored in Soracom Harvest Data or forwarded to any server using Soracom Beam.
