Soracom Beam TCP to HTTP/HTTPS Entry Point now supports Soracom Binary Format v1 (Public Beta)
We are excited to announce that the Soracom Beam TCP to HTTP/HTTPS Entry Point now supports Soracom Binary Format v1. While previously only available for Soracom Funnel, this format allows for the efficient transfer of binary data by allowing a device to send data in multiple TCP segments and then combining the segments before forwarding them to the configured destination.
With this update, you can now use this format with the Soracom Beam TCP to HTTP/HTTPS Entry Point:
Soracom Binary Format v1 is designed for sending binary data via TCP, allowing for a payload up to 65535 bytes. The format consists of a 2-byte message length field, the message body, and a 2-byte checksum calculated using CRC-16 CCITT. This structure ensures data integrity during transmission. The binary data is then encoded to Base64 for transfer. This format is particularly useful for IoT devices, enabling efficient data communication to cloud services through Soracom Funnel.
This feature is currently available in Public Beta
