Updated Custom Timestamp Validation in Harvest Data
As previously announced, Harvest Data allows setting the timestamp of device data according to a custom time value included in the data. This allows you reflect the exact time when your device generated the data, rather than the time the data arrived and was stored by Harvest Data.
While it has been possible to specify any arbitrary date and time for the custom timestamp, in certain situations this may lead to unexpected behavior, such as when the date and time value provided by the device significantly differs from the actual date and time due to the device's internal clock drift.
Therefore, we will update Harvest Data to return an error if the difference between the date and time specified by the device and the actual date and time greatly exceeds that of normal use cases.
This change is scheduled to be applied after November 5th, 2024.
