The Armadillo-IoT Router A9R Cat.1 bis+WLAN Model is a low-power industrial IoT router designed to securely and reliably connect sensors and devices to the internet.

The product meets the ★1 standard of the Japan Cyber STAR (JC-STAR): "Labeling Scheme based on Japan Cyber-Security Technical Assessment Requirements", operated by the Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan (IPA), enabling long-term operation as a high-security device.

For power-saving operation, the router supports both a Shutdown Mode and a Sleep Mode. It is also compatible with Armadillo Twin, a cloud-based device management service, which enables remote monitoring of device status as well as software updates and device reboots — keeping IoT routers deployed in remote locations always up to date.

The router also features a Cloud I/O Manager function, which allows integration with cloud services such as AWS and Microsoft Azure — including control of RS-485 and contact I/O — without any custom development on the router itself. This enables practical IoT solutions to be built with minimal development effort.

All settings can be configured through a dedicated Web UI (browser-based GUI). This includes network settings such as 4G (LTE) and WLAN, as well as software updates and device reboots. The Cloud I/O Manager function can also be configured within this tool.
