Starting today (March 24, 2026), Messages via Satellite is available for users of iPhone 14 or later with Soracom Air for Cellular plan-D / plan-DU.

Messages via Satellite supports iMessage and SMS.

Pricing

Standard SMS rates apply to SMS via satellite, but the service is available free of charge for the time being. If there are any changes to pricing, we will announce them on our website.

Notes

plan-D / plan-DU is available only as a physical SIM card. Please verify device compatibility on your own. SMS via satellite is supported only on plan-D IoT SIMs with SMS functionality. Please note that this service is currently only available for customers located in Japan.
