We've made it easier to manage SAM user permissions in your Soracom account with the introduction of Soracom Managed Roles.

Roles are a core access control feature that let administrators control user access to key functions like SIM management, ordering, billing and payment, and support. Setting up roles requires manually selecting the appropriate Soracom API permissions. However, determining which APIs to allow or deny can be difficult, which can often make configuring roles a confusing process.

Now, with Soracom Managed Roles, you can assign predefined roles which are maintained by Soracom, designed for common use cases.

• Simplified Setup: Quickly assign permissions to SAM users without worrying about which APIs to allow or deny.
• Automatic Updates: When new APIs are added, Soracom will update the roles so that they stay up to date.
• Customizable: Use roles as-is, combine them, or copy and modify them to fit your specific needs.

How to Use

From the account security screen, select a user, then click the Attach roles button and select from the list of Soracom Managed roles. You can also view a list of available Soracom Managed roles from the Roles tab.

Note that if a user is currently signed in, they must sign out and sign back in for the new role permission to take effect.
