Soracom Beam MQTT entry point feature for copying messages to Soracom Harvest Data now available

We are pleased to release a new feature for the Soracom Beam MQTT entry point which allows messages sent to an MQTT broker to be copied and saved to Soracom Harvest Data at the same time.

Previously, MQTT messages sent from a device to Soracom Beam could only be forwarded to an MQTT broker, and could not be saved in Soracom Harvest Data. With this new feature, MQTT messages can also be saved to Soracom Harvest Data, enabling more efficient data visualization and analysis.

Usage

To enable this feature:

  • From the Soracom User Console: Edit your Soracom Beam MQTT entry point settings and enable the "Copy to Soracom Harvest Data" option.
  • Using the Soracom API or CLI: Use the Group:putConfigurationParameters API or the soracom groups put-config command to set the SoracomBeam namespace fork.SoracomHarvest option to true.

You will also need to enable Soracom Harvest Data for the corresponding group.

Messages will be saved to Soracom Harvest Data in JSON format, with attributes mqttTopic containing the topic name and mqttPayload containing the message content.

Notes

  • Before using this feature, verify the format and configuration of the data sent from your device.
  • Temporary system errors may cause message copying to fail, but this does not affect message delivery to the MQTT broker.

For more details, please refer to the Soracom Beam documentation.
